Nathalie de Marcellis-Warin welcomed to CIRANO Professor Masayo Fujimoto, Ph.D., from the Department of Social Sciences at Doshisha University in Japan. This meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the impact of artificial intelligence on work. The discussions explored the transformations currently taking place within organizations, shifts in skills requirements, and the social and economic implications of the growing adoption of AI technologies. This visit helped enrich CIRANO’s reflections on the effects of AI in the workplace.
Professor Fujimoto also met with researcher Thierry Warin (HEC Montréal), who collaborates with the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI–OECD) on these issues. These exchanges once again highlight the importance of international collaborations—particularly with Japan—to better understand the profound transformations shaping our economies and societies.
