Over the past decade, the bioeconomy has emerged as a driver of transformation in advanced economies. Matching the skills of graduates from educational institutions with the needs of the job market in this sector is therefore becoming a critical issue.

In a CIRANO study (Campbell et al., 2025), the authors present analyses based on job postings in the United States, Canada, and Quebec in order to provide an overview of the various current and potential trends in labour market demand related to the new bioeconomy.
