Biography
A CIRANO Researcher since 2019, Charles Séguin is Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at the École des sciences de la gestion and in the Institute for Environmental Sciences at the Université du Québec à Montréal.
Holding a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, his research interests are environmental and resource economics. He develops applied models to tackle dynamics pollution management problems, including climate change and lake eutrophication, and sustainable resource extraction. He uses optimal control and dynamic programming, along with numerical methods from computational economics, to devise policies to address these issues.
