In a world in upheaval, education and workforce development are more than ever essential levers to improve productivity and reduce inequalities.
In light of this, CIRANO has chosen “Education and workforce: for a more productive and equitable society” as its theme for 2025-2026.
To launch this thematic year, join us on September 17 at CIRANO for a panel discussion with the principal researchers of two CIRANO themes: Benoit Dostie (HEC Montreal) and Fabian Lange (McGill University) for the Skills theme, Raquel Fonseca (ESG UQAM) and Markus Poschke (McGill University) for the Inequalities and Poverty theme.
Among other topics, we will discuss school dropout rates, the links between education, on-the-job training, innovation, and productivity, the balance between supply and demand in the labor market, and the potential effects of AI on social inequalities.
The panel will be followed by a cocktail reception.
Registration is free, but mandatory.
