CIRANO is pleased to announce the appointment of one new Associate Researcher and four new Researchers:

CIRANO is pleased to announce the appointment of one new Associate Researcher and four new Researchers:

  • Michael Smart, Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Toronto, has been appointed a CIRANO Researcher in the Economic and Fiscal Policies theme. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Stanford University.
  • Luca Mazzone, Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Université de Montréal, has been appointed a CIRANO Researcher in the Inequality and Poverty theme. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics and Finance from the University of Zurich and the Swiss Finance Institute.
  • René Morissette, Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial Relations at Université du Québec en Outaouais, has been appointed a CIRANO Researcher in the Skills theme. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics and Industrial Relations from Université de Montréal.
  • Philippe d’Astous, Full Professor in the Department of Finance at HEC Montréal, has been appointed a CIRANO Researcher in the Economic Cycles and Financial Markets theme. He holds a Ph.D. in Risk Management and Insurance from the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University.
  • Katalin Springel, Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Economics at HEC Montréal, has been appointed a CIRANO Researcher in the Sustainable Development and Agri-food theme. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
