As trade tensions intensify, and the United States imposes tariffs on certain Canadian products, diversifying export markets is becoming an unavoidable priority for Quebec companies. In this context, SMEs in the bio-food sector, which are still under-represented among exporters, face major financial challenges.
What are the main financial barriers for these SMEs? How can they better anticipate and plan their expenses?
CIRANO invites you to an webinar featuring the results of the study “Financial Autonomy and Export Activities of Biofood SMEs: Adequately Planning for Expenditures”, authored by Josée St-Pierre (UQTR and CIRANO), Annie Royer (Université Laval and CIRANO), Crispin Enagogo (Université Sainte-Anne, N.-É.) and Jean-Pierre D. Menguele (UQTR). The aim of this research is to gain a better understanding of the financial issues specific to exporting SMEs, and to propose a useful planning tool.
In addition to presenting the results, this webinar will feature two renowned women entrepreneurs, who will share their experiences and the strategies they have implemented to succeed in international markets:
- Chantal Van Winden, CEO Oliméga
- Laura Boivin, CEO Grizzly
Why should you attend?
- Understand the financial challenges of exporting for bio-food SMEs
- Discover concrete strategies for optimizing financial management of exports
- Benefit from feedback from experienced entrepreneurs
- Exchange with experts in the field
