This appointment reflects her recognized expertise in governance, transparency, and international standard-setting, as well as her sustained commitment to rigorous and globally comparable financial standards.
The IFRS Foundation plays a central role in developing international accounting and sustainability standards in response to financial markets’ need for credible and comparable information to assess companies’ financial prospects.
Anne-Marie Hubert has also joined the nomination committee for the new independent Canadian Taxonomy Council, which is responsible for reviewing and ultimately approving Canadian sustainable investment guidelines—an important tool for investors, lenders, and other stakeholders by reliably defining “green” investments and investments that support the “transition” to a green economy. The Canadian taxonomy will be a new voluntary market tool, aligned and generally compatible with other major taxonomies and scientific frameworks used around the world. It will reference international financial disclosure standards to communicate companies’ commitments to the market and to monitor progress through financial reporting.
Through these appointments, Anne-Marie Hubert will bring her strategic experience and deep knowledge of governance and sustainable performance issues at a time when the integration of international standards to assess both financial and non-financial dimensions has become a key driver of competitiveness and resilience.
CIRANO congratulates Anne-Marie Hubert on these appointments!
